Korean Air A380 S11 New Operation Changes as of 07JUN11

As per 07JUN11 GDS timetable display, Korean Air has further revised Airbus A380 operation.
Reported on 03JUN11, the Skyteam member is operating A380 service on Seoul Incheon – Paris CDG route 3 times a week.
As a result, A380 service on Seoul Incheon – Los Angeles route will be delayed from 01OCT11 to 11OCT11, and operates 3 weekly instead of Daily. The Skyteam member is also adjusting A380 service to South East Asia during the month of September and October 2011. Further, planned A380 service entry to Bangkok, 2nd Daily to Hong Kong also sees postponement.
The Skyteam member remains on track to inaugurate A380 service on 17JUN11. Details:

По Латинской Америке - там рынок очень узкий, если сравнивать с Азией или Северной Америкой. Посмотрите, сколько рейсов из Европы в ЮС или ЮВА, а сколько, к примеру, в Мехико - AF (CDG), LH (FRA), IB (MAD), BA (LHR), Aeromexico и все.

А по Индии, наверное, есть направления, более чувствительные к качеству продукта и количеству кресел бизнес-класса. AF, например, в Индию летает на 777 с двумя рядами бизнеса и без первого, куда там А380.

Вкратце: перевозчики (в частности Emirates и Lufthansa) очень хотят летать в Индию на А380, но правительство этой удивительной страны не дает на это разрешения. Официально мотивирует тем, что аэропорты не готовы к приему Суперджамбы. Реальная причина - "поддержка отечественного производителя" в лице Air India и прочих.

As per 19SEP11 GDS timetable and inventory display, Korean Air has shelved planned Daily A380 operation on Seoul Incheon – Beijing service during the month of September and October 2011. The Skyteam member is currently scheduling 1-time A380 service on 22SEP11.

The A380 originally designated to operate Beijing service, has moved to Tokyo Narita.

Singapore Airlines to Start A380 Service to Frankfurt/New York JFK Service from mid-Jan 2012

Singapore Airlines today (19SEP11) announced that its Daily Singapore – Frankfurt – New York JFK service is to be operated by Airbus A380 aircraft starting 15JAN12. This has been circulating on the internet for several months.

The A380 will replace Boeing 747-400 aircraft, which marks the end of SIA 747 long-haul operation to Europe and North America. The capacity will be increased by 25%.

At time this post goes to press (0830GMT), the airline has yet to adjust the flight information in its inventory system.

A380 service will be operating on EK049/050.
