Could you please help me?
When listening to the news about the air crash in the French Alps I came across the following sentence: "The co-pilot started his training in 2008, after his training he had 1.100 waiting time...he worked as flight attendant for us (for Lufthansa) during his waiting time".
Question: do they mean 1.100 hours? Do I understand it right that the "waiting time" (the time period when a pilot is not working as a pilot) is measured in hours? If so, is there anything like this in our country (I mean in Russia)?
