Air Caucasus (Tbilisi) has officially launched operations following its maiden flight from Tbilisi to Antalya, Turkey on Sunday, August 18. The flight was operated using its sole MD-83, 4L-LUL (msn 49948) on lease from Swift AirCargo (Singapore Changi). Speaking on the occasion, co-founder and director of Air Caucasus, George Kodua, said future flights would include Istanbul Atatürk and Astana followed by Kiev, Minsk Int'l 2,Tashkent Yuzhny, Moscow,St. Petersburg and, possibly, Samara Kurumoch in September 2013. Air Caucasus co-founders include A-Sonic Aerospace Limited, a Singaporean firm.
