Airbus has secured a further extended twin-engined operations (ETOPS) clearance for the A330neo from the European Aviation Safety Agency.
EASA has approved the A330-900 to conducted ETOPS beyond 180min, according to a 24 January revision of capabilities.
The A330-900 – the larger variant of the A330neo – had obtained 180min ETOPS clearance on 14 November.
This approval had initially been conditional, because inspection work on the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 powerplant for the type had not been finalised.
EASA granted 330min ETOPS clearance to the Trent 7000 engine in mid-December, and this has led to the approval for beyond-180min ETOPS on the A330-900.
