Incident: Venezolana B732 at Port of Spain on May 30th 2019, uncontained engine failure

A Venezolana Boeing 737-200, registration YV502T performing flight VNE-1303 from Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago) to Caracas (Venezuela) with 79 people on board, was climbing out of Port of Spain when the left hand engine (JT8D) failed emitting a loud bang. The crew stopped the climb and returned to Port of Spain for a safe landing about 23 minutes after departure.
A post flight inspection revealed the engine had suffered an uncontained failure ejecting debris radially downwards. The fuselage received minor damage as result of the engine failure, too.

While passengers boarding the airplane, a Boeing 767-300ER of All Nippon Airways operating flight ANA/NH308 from Naha to Nagoya/Chubu Centrair (STD 18:00) suffered an APU explosion when the electric power supply was changed from GPU to APU. Some debris were spread over a taxiway, causing the taxiway to be closed for 40 minutes. No personal injuries were reported. The accident flight was cancelled, and other 13 flights delayed for 50 minutes in maximum.
The plane departed from Ostrava as flight QS1302, and landed normally at 16.13 in Heraklion Crete. During mounting of the movable disembarkation stairs, the handling agency personnel noticed a fire in one of the plane's engines and used a portable fire extinguisher to put it off. The airport's fire department then also threw foam on the engine.
According to airport authorities, disembarkation was completed without any problems.
The plane was supposed to return to Ostrava OSR, but remains grounded for inspection.
Avianca Flight AV965, an Airbus A330-243, encountered severe turbulence while flying over the Andes between Chile and Argentina. At least fifteen people were injured when the plane suddenly plunged by about 300m several times.
