Embraer logged its largest-ever backlog during the 2025 second quarter—$29.7 billion—and delivered 61 aircraft across its business units, 30% higher than the same period in 2024.

The largest portion of Embraer’s backlog—$13.1 billion—comes from its commercial aviation division. That figure, up 16% year-over-year, represents its highest backlog figure in eight years (since the fourth quarter of 2017). During the quarter, U.S. regional carrier SkyWest ordered 60 E175s, with options for an additional 50, and Scandinavian Airlines signed a contract for 45 E195-E2s with options for 10.

Embraer’s business unit delivered 19 aircraft, which boosted its first half deliveries to 26 aircraft. Embraer says it is tracking its full-year delivery guidance of 77-85 aircraft because of “production leveling efforts.”

Broken down by aircraft types, Embraer delivered nine total E175s during the quarter to Republic Airways (which took five), SkyWest (two) and Horizon Air (two). The company also delivered an E190-E2 to U.S. lessor Azorra. E195-E2 deliveries went to lessors AerCap (three), Azorra (two) and ICBC (one), and airlines Binter (one), Mexicana (one) and Royal Jordanian (one).

Embraer’s Executive Aviation delivered 38 jets during the second quarter, 41% higher than the 27 aircraft it delivered in the same quarter last year. Embraer delivered 21 light jets (four Phenom 100s and 17 Phenom 300s) and 17 mid-size jets (eight Praetor 500s, nine Praetor 600s). These aircraft increased Embraer’s first-half deliveries to 61 aircraft.

Embraer defense and security’s backlog grew 62% year-over-year to $4.3 billion during the second quarter. During the period, Lithuania selected the C-390 Millennium and Portugal ordered six KC-390 Millenniums. Four A-29 Super Tucanos were delivered to the Paraguayan Air Force.

Embraer’s services and support group vaulted its backlog to $4.9 billion during the quarter, a 55% increase year-over-year. Highlights include the opening of its $70 million Perot Field Alliance Airport maintenance facility in Texas, where CommuteAir will be its launch customer. The unit also secured two more passenger-to-freighter conversion orders from Regional One and added airlines Virgin Australia, Amelia, Air Montenegro and Hunnu Air to its parts pooling program. Embraer also announced that it will add a full-flight simulator in Madrid for E2 customers, in partnership with CAE.

Better connectivity solutions are in high demand both for private and commercial aviation. On that front, Embraer will now offer Gogo Galileo HDX on Phenom 300s through a supplemental type certificate with Gogo, and Viasat is installing its inflight connectivity solution on Aeromexico’s E190 jets.

Embraer педлгает отличный продукт на рынке. Им нужен производственный рост, умение собирать количество. У них есть все шансы стать #3 производителями в мире. Если они останутся на том что есть в конечном счете они потеряют все из-за догоняющего их Китая

Malta-based Bridges Air Cargo is scheduled to start operations this year with the first passenger-to-freight Embraer E190F E-Freighter conversion. Launch customer Bridges is taking two aircraft from Miami, Florida-based lessor Regional One, with both scheduled to arrive in Q4 2025.

Bridges Air Cargo is part of Bridges Worldwide, which operates on behalf of the international logistics, courier and express community. The company partners with global logistics providers, including FedEx, DHL, and UPS, to support time-critical and high-performance network requirements, although the E190Fs will operate in Bridges’ livery and operate its own services.

“It’s fitting that Bridges becomes the launch customer for the E-Freighter as we celebrate 35 years of operations and over a billion kilograms moved for the express market,” Bridges Air Cargo’s MD, Guy Bridges said.

“The aircraft’s size fills a unique and under-served space in the cargo segment. It strengthens our operational capability and paves the way for the development of promising new routes. We are excited to partner with Embraer and Regional One on what we see as a pivotal advancement for regional air cargo.”

In Bridges’ service, the aircraft will fill a gap between ATR and Boeing 737-800 freighters.

E-Jets converted to freighters will have a maximum payload of 13.5 tonnes spread between the main deck and underfloor hold, and a maximum range of 2,300nm. These figures offer more than 40% greater volume capacity, and three times the range of large cargo turboprops, and up to 30% lower operating costs than larger narrowbodies, Embraer says.

“As the first E190 P2F conversion, this milestone underscores Regional One’s dedication to innovation in the regional aviation market, said lessor Regional One’s president, Hank Gibson. “Together with Embraer and our valued partners, we are setting a new benchmark for regional cargo transport – transforming one of the world’s most efficient regional jets into the next-generation freighter.”

“We look forward to supporting a smooth entry into service for the first E-Freighter, and wish Bridges every success”, Embraer Commercial Aviation’s president and CEO, Arjan Meijer said at June’s Paris Air Show.

The E190F was launched to meet the changing demands of e-commerce and modern trade flows, which require fast deliveries and decentralized operations, driving demand for faster delivery to secondary and tertiary markets.

Bridges is a provider of neutral network solutions to the international logistics, courier and express industry.

The company is a significant provider in the European market. It plans to expand its reach in coming years into other regions including Africa, the Gulf, the Indian subcontinent, and Asia.

The Embraer E195-E2 is carving out a niche that Boeing cannot ignore. With recent upgrades reducing fuel burn by another 2.5%, the aircraft is now more than 12% more efficient than rivals like the Boeing 737 MAX 8. Its smaller frame avoids excess capacity on thin routes, while a new cabin layout adds four extra seats without compromising comfort. These improvements translate into over $5 million in added revenue potential per aircraft, making the E2 an appealing choice for airlines targeting medium-haul, lower-demand routes where the 737 may be too heavy and costly.Beyond fuel savings, the E195-E2 is built for flexibility. Its short-field performance allows operations from constrained airports like London City, while a 3,000-nautical-mile range opens up new point-to-point markets. Airlines also benefit from lower maintenance costs, upgraded avionics, and reduced engine degradation, which together add up to millions in life cycle value. With carriers like Azul, Porter, KLM Cityhopper, and Binter Canarias already investing, the E2 is proving it can reshape regional and transcontinental networks. Boeing’s delays and limited offerings in this segment only strengthen Embraer’s position.
