Union accuses Interjet not paying workers and takes legal action
* Alejandro del Valle, one of the company's investors, promised to cover the payroll on Friday, said union leader Francisco Joaquín del Olmo.
* On the other hand, airline sources point out that there is already a tiered payment plan.
Section 15 of the Mexican Workers' Confederation (CTM) accused Interjet of failing to pay the payroll of its workers, this despite promises from Alejandro del Valle, one of the airline's investors.
The payment of wages was not made on Friday, so the union took the necessary legal actions to guarantee the workers' labor rights, it was explained in a letter sent to Interjet collaborators unionized to said section.
In this regard, Interjet sources confirmed that there is already a staggered payment plan for the airline, so it hopes to regularize payments next Monday.
"Interjet, through the engineer Alejandro del Valle, constantly communicated to the union that the payment commitments acquired with its workers would be covered today (Friday) and without setbacks; we already know that this did not happen", mentions the document of which The Financier has a copy.
The letter, signed by the director of section 15, Francisco Joaquín del Olmo, indicates that Del Valle himself contacted him to ask for a meeting next Monday.
However, Del Olmo indicated that the lack of payment to the workers undermined confidence with the airline, which for months has had difficulties in its air and financial operation.
Despite the fact that a few weeks ago the investment of 150 million dollars to capitalize the company was announced, the airline has serious difficulties, such as the claim of passengers who have not been able to fly with Interjet due to the repeated cancellation of their flights ...
In addition, company employees have organized to protest against the airline's management, which in the midst of the worst crisis in the industry has not covered their salaries.
"I ask the company and its shareholders not to let it fall, but on the contrary, to raise the image that the workers of your company have," added the union leader.
